In the early part of the 20th century, Calder was part ofthe Hudson's Bay Company Reserve and settled primarily by employees of the Grand TrunkPacific Railway. Ninety percent of the buildings in this former railroad colony are one- or two-unithomes. While most homes were built in the 1940s and 50s, some date back tobefore 1910.
