March 5-The French Connection
Winner of five Academy Awards, this classic crime thriller features Gene Hackman as New York City police detective "Popeye" Doyle, relentlessly in pursuit of a narcotics smuggling ring and ultimately hoping to uncover the "French Connection" behind it. Based on a true story as recounted in Robin Moore's book of the same name, this 1971 film features one of the all-time classic car chase scenes. 104 minutes (1971) Rated TBA
March 12-The Friends of Eddie Coyle
Unavailable for many years, this classic seventies crime film features Robert Mitchum in his last great role as Eddie Coyle, a small-time career criminal with a wife and family to support. Awaiting sentencing on his latest conviction, Eddie weighs returning to prison for the next five years against becoming a police informant. Based on the novel of the same name by George V. March 19-Zodiac
A cartoonist (Jake Gyllenhaal) and an alcoholic reporter (Robert Downey Jr.) both working for a San Francisco newspaper during the seventies become obsessed with the manhunt for a serial killer. Mark Ruffalo also stars as Inspector David Toschi. Roughly based on Robert Graysmith's real life account of the same name, this 2007 film has appeared on a number of best of the decade lists. 157 minutes (2007) Rated 14A

Al Pacino stars as true life New York City undercover cop Frank Serpico, who blows the whistle on corruption within the ranks of his fellow officers and suffers some harrowing consequences. Based on Peter Maas' best selling book. 130 minutes (1973) Rated TBA
