Look forward to a special anniversary celebration of the twentieth annual Silver Skate Festival! Rooted in the Dutch tradition of the love of the outdoors, the Silver Skate Festival is a unique blend of sports, recreation, arts and culture in picturesque Hawrelak Park. Enjoy three evenings of Night Works in the Park, the 4th Annual Cessco Snow Sculpture Competition, Long Blade Skate Marathons and the Edmonton Winter Triathlon. Free public programming from noon - 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday includes sleigh rides, free skate, ski and snowshoe rentals plus other free activities. Winter Light helps provide a warm welcome, Winter Camp and "24 Hours to Ignition" an art project set ablaze in a spectacle of fire.
