The Spirited Thrifter

My name is Nicole. I’m a 41-year-old wife and mother of three awesome kids, aged 9, 7 and 4. I started style blogging in August 2012 after my husband lost his job and I discovered thrifting as an avenue for affordable fashion and retail therapy! He found another awesome job soon after, but I continued with my adventure of shopping second hand for myself for a full year and I’m not planning to stop any time soon!

Closet Cleanse Decision Tree

Indulge me for a moment and sing in your head, “Situation critical! Oh oh oh it’s critical!” If you don’t immediately get that reference, it’s a Platinum Blonde song from the 80s and it perfectly described my closet until recently. I usually do a closet clean out eve...

21 Day (Social Media) Fast

Today is the last day of the decade and I’ve been awake for hours thinking about EVERYTHING. Somewhere around 5:36 AM, I decided that I need a break – might seem ironic when I haven’t blogged since June – and that I better succumb to consciousness and get my thoughts down ...

My Cup of Grief

I have sat down to write this post about a hundred times since April 20th. Each time, I’ve stopped because if I write it, then it will be real and I don’t feel ready for it to be real. Maybe that feeling never goes away. My father passed away unexpectedly on April 20th. I went [...] T...
